Stupid Ways People Show Their Thanks

  1. “I am sooo thankful for my health.” Then they Supersize a Big Mac Meal and go sit in front of the TV.
  2. “I am sooo thankful for my family.” Then they spend all their time at work or the golf course.
  3. “I am sooo grateful to live where I can make free choices.” Then they live their lives restricted by their boss’s choices or the cable company’s choices.
  4. “I am sooo grateful to have been so blessed with material things.” Then spend the day grumbling about taxes and programs that help those not as blessed.
  5. “I am sooo grateful to live in a country where I can participate in the government.” Then spend the evening complaining and whining about the government.
  6. “I am sooo grateful to live in a safe neighborhood.” Then never venture to a school or playground to mentor, teach, or spend time with a child who may someday be tempted to turn to finding his sense of belonging in a gang.
  7. “I am sooo grateful for a wonderful spouse.” Then come home spent, tired, and exhausted and turn on the TV and turn off your mind, your ears and your energy.
  8. “I am sooo grateful for my kids.” Then spend any time they have with them criticizing them or tweaking their accomplishments by saying, “Yeah, that was good but if you had only…”
  9. “I am sooo grateful for freedom to worship the way I want.” Then criticize anybody who has a different religious belief or practice than themselves.
  10. “I am sooo grateful for a good mind.” Actually I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say this. Maybe I should start hanging out with a little brighter crowd.Expressing thankfulness with words is one thing. Expressing your gratitude with the way you live and love is completely another. This Thanksgiving start transforming your life by living as if you are truly grateful for what you have. Live with purpose, energy, and direction. Feed your body with healthy food and exercise.
